Essay Challenge: What is the difference between a hard drive and Google Drive in the cloud?

Learners in grades 2-5 can earn one media lab point for submitting a paragraph description of the difference between a hard drive and Google Drive in the cloud.

Their paragraph

  • must be original,
  • include an opening sentence,
  • several clear researched facts,
  • a concluding sentence.

Learners can earn a second point if they include personification in their paragraph.

We are slowly rolling out Google Apps for Education for our teachers and our students. One of the great new advantages coming is the ability to store all our papers “in the cloud” where we can access them from any classroom, from home, and from any internet enabled computer. Understanding how the storage of computer files in the cloud works is part of 21st century skills we want our students to understand!
